Position Summary

Black Collection Apparel is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst Intern to support financial operations, reporting, budgeting, inventory analysis, and strategic business planning within our growing apparel, branding, media, and e-commerce company.

This internship provides hands-on experience working with real business financials, sales reporting, event budgeting, product forecasting, vendor analysis, and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and interested in finance, entrepreneurship, e-commerce, and business growth strategy.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze sales performance, expenses, inventory costs, and revenue trends across Shopify, events, and business operations.

  • Assist with tracking financial performance for product launches, campaigns, and vendor events.

  • Support the preparation of financial reports, spreadsheets, and business summaries for leadership review.

  • Monitor operational spending and assist with identifying cost-saving opportunities.


Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist with budgeting for apparel production, events, marketing campaigns, and inventory purchasing.

  • Help forecast sales trends and product demand based on historical and seasonal data.

  • Collaborate with different departments to organize financial data and support planning initiatives.


Business Operations Support

  • Assist with inventory valuation and vendor cost analysis.

  • Support financial organization for Shopify, PayPal, Square, CashApp, and other business transaction platforms.

  • Participate in projects focused on improving profitability, operational efficiency, and reporting systems.


Research & Strategic Growth

  • Conduct research related to grants, funding opportunities, business growth initiatives, and market trends.

  • Analyze HBCU, Greek, fashion, and consumer purchasing trends to support strategic business decisions.


Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets, financial reporting tools, or data visualization platforms preferred.

  • Interest in entrepreneurship, e-commerce, apparel, and business operations.

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
