Position Summary

Black Collection Apparel is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and fast-paced Video Editor Intern to support post-production editing, short-form content creation, commercials, interviews, event recaps, podcasts, documentaries, and digital storytelling initiatives.

This internship provides hands-on experience editing real-world media content connected to apparel campaigns, HBCU collections, Greek organization promotions, Juneteenth campaigns, homecoming season, vendor events, podcasts, commercials, and documentary projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about editing, storytelling, visual pacing, music selection, and creating engaging content for digital audiences.

Interns will work with footage captured using professional production equipment including:

  • Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K

  • Nikon D3500

  • DJI RS3 Pro Stabilizer

  • Professional audio and lighting systems

Key Responsibilities

Video Editing & Post-Production

  • Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and marketing campaigns.

  • Assist with editing commercials, interviews, podcasts, documentaries, event recaps, and promotional content.

  • Organize raw footage, audio files, graphics, transitions, and project assets.

Creative Storytelling

  • Help create engaging edits using pacing, music, transitions, captions, effects, and storytelling techniques.

  • Collaborate with videographers, content creators, and marketing teams to develop creative content strategies.

  • Assist with creating cinematic edits, social media clips, teaser videos, and branded content.

Content Optimization

  • Format and optimize content for multiple social media platforms and screen sizes.

  • Assist with adding captions, graphics, lower thirds, branding elements, and motion effects.

  • Help maintain consistent visual branding and editing style across campaigns.

Production Workflow & Collaboration

  • Manage editing timelines and meet content deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for content ideas, campaign concepts, and creative direction.

  • Help organize editing folders, project files, and production archives.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Film, Media Production, Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, After Effects, or similar editing software preferred.

  • Strong interest in video editing, storytelling, media production, and social media content.

  • Basic understanding of pacing, audio editing, transitions, color correction, and content formatting.

  • Strong creativity, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
